ICONIC AWARDS, INNOVATIVE ARCHITECTURE

We are delighted to announce that we recently won the ICONIC AWARDS in INNOVATIVE ARCHITECTURE 2021. Our UP! BERLIN was awarded in the building design category as “BEST OF BEST”.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID 19 pandemic regulations, the award ceremony was canceled. But a few days ago we received the prize-memorablia by mail! Thank you ICONIC team!

Read below the JURY STATEMENT:

“The brilliant design by JASPER ARCHITECTS transforms the former Centrum Warenhaus shopping mall from the GDR – a decades-old Berlin structure with a monolithic geometry and a side length of 80 metres – into a building flooded with daylight and enabling grandiose views of the city. The idea of making gorge-like cuts into all four sides and of offsetting and terracing them by floor to create a multitude of glazed quasi-bays not only results in naturally bright interior spaces; the building is also lent a completely new identity thanks to this striking architectural intervention.”
